He was a sullen, impatient and creepy middle-aged bloke who seemed to look down on everyone younger than him with utter disdain, but then he disappeared for a month or so and came back all friendly and calm and slightly less creepy.

I think it was a bit of a culture shock for him in the beginning.

Ah ok. Yeah, he probably had someone tell him that he was being a fuckface about it and that keeping that attitude would only make life hard for him the whole time he's there. Way to alienate oneself.

It's actually a bit of a noir thriller, but beyond the title and a thin outline of the central character, it's kinda lacking..well, it's kinda nonexistent...
